Case Study - R C Treatt
RC Treatt are well known in the Fragrance & Flavour industry and Treattarome FTNF distillates have been well used in the Flavour Industry. Treattaromes are FTNF distillates from fruit and vegetable products. The method of manufacture allows their volatile components to be isolated from plants which have excellent odour value, not previously seen, for example, from cucumber and passion fruit.
The Goal
RC Treatt had been marketing Treattaromes to the fragrance industry for a short time but wanted to make more of an impact. It was important for potential customers to see the commercial application of Treattaromes in a more obvious way.
Orchadia Approach
Penny evaluated the Treattarome product range, both the water based and oil based products. Several oil based products were selected which could offer a high benefit in fragrance applications. It was also recognized that many of the Treattaromes had value in their own right as ingredients in cosmetics and toiletries. This was particularly true of three products: Passion fruit Treattarome, Cucumber Treattarome and Honey Treattarome.
Ongoing discussions, creative and marketing work led to Orchadia offering:
- Design of simple, reproducible fragrance formulations which highlighted the Treattaromes as effective fragrance ingredients
- Demonstrations of Treattaromes in toiletry applications which illustrated how well they performed as ingredients in their own right
- Presentation information
- Full feedback about performance and technical considerations
R C Treatt Feedback
"The work Penny did for us on this project has proved very valuable in the promotion and marketing of the Treattarome⢠products to the fragrance industry. We continue to work with her and to explore other areas of mutual interest."
